Introduced by Smadar Berlingeri | Folio Italian Selections & M. Touton
Donnafugata Anthilia 2018
Rated 92 Points, James Suckling – “Solid concentration and depth on the nose here, which also manages to be vibrant and focused. Sliced lemons, apples and apricots are all on offer. The acidity really makes this medium-bodied wine, drawing it out long and keeping it tightly wound all the while.” Cattarrato-based white blend.
Linguine alle Vongole
Linguine pasta sautéed with clams in olive oil, garlic, a touch of hot red peppers, Italian parsley and white wine sauce
Donnafugata SurSur Grillo 2018
Rated 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast – “Loaded with fragrance, flavor and finesse, this savory white pushes all the right buttons, starting with inviting aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and white spring flowers. The fresh, medium-bodied palate doles out honeydew, Meyer lemon and Mediterranean herb alongside crisp acidity and a hint of saline.”
Linguine con Broccoli di Rabe
Broccoli di Rabe and Roma Sausage sautéed in garlic and olive oil, then tossed with linguine pasta and a touch of marinara sauce
Donnafugata Bell’Assai 2017
Brilliant ruby red with violet reflections, Bell’Assai offers a fragrant bouquet with intense flowery notes of violets and roses combined with scents of fresh red fruit (strawberries and raspberries). In the mouth it surprises with its great freshness, a perfect harmony between aroma and taste, supported by soft tannins. A fragrant red that amazes with its immediate pleasantness.
Ravioli di Ricotta alla Posta
Ravioli-filled with ricotta cheese and spinach in a creamy Parmesan cheese sauce with porcini mushrooms, and sliced Speck prosciutto
Donnafugata Nero d’Avola Sherazade 2018
Rated 91 Points, James Suckling – “A nero d’avola with a light, fresh edge, revealing sour cherries and raspberry cheesecake with a touch of citrus. Very taut and edgy, almost tart, on the palate, but there’s undeniable transparency and depth. Medium-bodied and medium-chewy.”
Pappardelle al Ragu di Cinghiale
Pappardelle pasta sautéed with wild boar, and tomato ragout
Donnafugata Tancredi 2016
Rated 93 Points, The Wine Advocate – “Donnafugata's Tancredi is one of Sicily's most popular red wines, and it's easy to see why. The 2016 Tancredi is rich and soft at the same time, with a very pleasing texture that caresses the palate with dark fruit, spice and plum. The wine is mostly a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d'Avola, although some Tannat and other grapes are thrown in. It ages in oak for 14 months. This is a complete effort that boasts thick layering and volume.”
Tiramisu and Coffee
Donnafugata Passito Ben Rye 2017
Ben Ryé 2017 offers an extraordinary rich bouquet with outstanding aromas obtained from the dried grapes: apricots and candied orange peel. The palate is very fresh and intense, balancing perfectly the sweetness followed by a long and satisfying persistence (the 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages received scores from 93-98 Points!).
